📖 The Quick Answer
Stellantis Safety bundles Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus (which is AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning Plus, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, ParkSense ultrasonic parking, and Drowsy Driver Detection. Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram 1500 Tungsten add Active Driving Assist for hands-on lane centering and Hands-Free Active Driving Assist for mapped highway hands-free.
⚙ How It Works (Sensors and Algorithm)
Hardware is a forward camera behind the windshield, a forward radar in the lower grille (or behind the badge on Ram), two rear corner radars, and ultrasonic sensors. Hands-Free Active Driving Assist adds a driver-facing infrared camera on the steering column. The body control module and ADAS ECU share data over CAN-FD. Wagoneer uses BlueCruise-style HD map data on roughly 125,000 miles of US and Canadian highway.
🛡 What It Protects Against
Rear-end collisions, lane departures, blind-spot lane changes, parking-lot fender benders, and drowsy-driver crashes. IIHS rates Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, and Pacifica with the full Stellantis Safety bundle as Top Safety Picks.
⚠ Limitations and When It Fails
Hands-Free Active Driving Assist requires the driver-facing camera to see the driver eyes, which sunglasses and certain head positions defeat. The system is geofenced to mapped highways and disengages when the map ends. After a windshield replacement, static recalibration with the wiTECH 2 scan tool is required. The forward radar behind the Ram tailgate-style badge is sensitive to badge alignment, and a misaligned badge triggers radar fault codes.
🚗 Which Vehicles Have It
Standard or available on Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Pacifica, Voyager, Ram 1500 (Limited, Longhorn, Tungsten), Charger, and Challenger. Hands-Free Active Driving Assist is on Wagoneer Series III and above, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram 1500 Tungsten. Compass and Renegade have a more basic bundle (AEB and LDW only on some trims).
