ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) is the industry-standard credential for automotive technicians. The eight core "A-series" tests cover engine repair, transmissions, brakes, electrical, suspension, A/C, engine performance, and manual drive trains. A Master Technician passed all eight and has at least two years of hands-on experience.
