🛠️ How To Prepare for Your Texas Inspection

  1. 1. Get the check engine light off and verified out for at least 50 miles.
  2. 2. Replace the gas cap before testing - $15 cap saves a fail.
  3. 3. Drive a full warm-up before the station. Cold engines fail OBD-II readiness more often.
  4. 4. If you live in Travis, Williamson, Harris, Brazoria, Galveston, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, or El Paso county - you still need emissions.
  5. 5. Bring proof of insurance - the station verifies it before testing.
